        Use

        Thirty (30) percent of the US population 2 years of age and older obtained the recommended level of calcium and 55 percent consumed less than the Estimated Average Requirement for magnesium. [1]  

        People at risk of magnesium deficiency [2]

        • Seniors. According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, up to 80 percent of adults 71 years and older had inadequate magnesium intake
        • Type 2 diabetics
        • Alcoholics
        • Gastrointestinal disorders, such as Crohn's disease or celiac disease.

                Symptoms

                Symptoms of magnesium deficiency: Since the kidneys can limit excretion of magnesium, magnesium deficiency is rare. But when magnesium deficiency occurs, individuals will suffer from
                • muscle cramps
                • hypertension
                • narrowing of coronary and cerebral blood vessels.
                Symptoms of calcium deficiency are not readily apparent. When dietary calcium is inadequate, your body steals the bone's calcium, but it takes years for a loss of calcium from bones to jeopardize your health resulting in:
                • Osteopenia (lower than normal bone-mineral density)
                • Osteoporosis (very low bone-mineral density)
                • An increased risk of fractures

                FAQ's

                Why is the calcium and magnesium combination important?
                Magnesium is an enzyme cofactor involved in more than 300 enzymatic processes. With magnesium, an coenzyme facilitates calcium passing across cell membranes.  Mild magnesium depletion may result in a significant decrease in serum calcium concentration.  [1]

                What is the difference between the ANR Cal-Mag and the TransMins2 Cal-Mag and which one should I take?
                We chelate the minerals in both product lines.  The primary difference is the quantity of minerals in the ANR Cal-Mag 200-200 capsule versus ANR Cal-Mag 500-250.  The tablet has more minerals per dosage than the capsule. Also, the ANR Cal-Mag 500-250 tablet is delivered in a fiber tablet which dissolves slower than the capsule. 

                What is the source of your calcium?
                Our calcium is derived from mined calcium hydroxide. The calcium is then chelated or bound with amino acids to create a more bioavailable calcium complex.*
